Tsuchiya Kaban's leather product brand, "TSUCHIYA KABAN," has been awarded the Platinum Award, the highest honor, in the "Fashion and Travel Accessories Design" category of the Italian international design award "A' Design Award & Competition 2026" for two products: "OTONA RANDSEL FT 001" and "Japan Motif Kumihimo Bag."
The "OTONA RANDSEL FT 001" is an adult model that reinterprets the structural beauty unique to randoseru (Japanese school satchels) as a modern backpack. The "Japan Motif Kumihimo Bag" is a modern reinterpretation of traditional Japanese techniques, incorporating kumihimo (braiding) produced by Ryukobo, a long-established kumihimo workshop.
